Jesus Christ is widely regarded as the most influential person in history and is the central figure of Christianity. Whilst many accept Jesus as a good role model or teacher, we know Him to be so much more.

C.S. Lewis, a well-known Christian author, wrote of Jesus, “Either this man was, and is, the son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

We believe that truly knowing who Jesus is, on a relational level, is the most important thing we could ever know.

At Connect Church we believe that He is the only saviour, and that faith in Jesus makes us right with God. As Romans 10:9 tells us: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

This is the best news in history and the gift of salvation is free to everyone!

To be made whole, or to be saved, is to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. It’s a turning from our old ways and turning to Jesus, asking Him for forgiveness and to give us a new life.
