CONNECT FOUNDATION

Connect Foundation was founded in 2022 as a new and innovative charitable venture that has one key and primary objective; to seek the wellbeing of North Lincolnshire.

We believe that true wellbeing is only possible when we take a holistic approach, understanding that everyone’s health is a combination of emotional, physical, social, economic, and spiritual factors.

Since our launch in 2022 Connect Foundation has become the new home of Scunthorpe Foodbank, which seeks to end hunger in North Lincolnshire. This project, with its army of more than 50 volunteers, is currently serving approximately 5000 people with emergency food parcels each year, all in conjunction with various local partners and agencies.

The clear objectives of Connect Foundation are:

the prevention or relief of poverty by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty; and
the relief of unemployment in such ways as the Charity Trustees may from time to time decide, including assistance to find employment.

To help us achieve these objectives our key activities will be:

Community Engagement: creating projects and events that meet the needs of the community and directly fulfil the purposes of the charity. An example could be running job clubs or setting up additional Foodbank distributions.
Social Enterprise: creating opportunities that apply commercial strategies to maximise improvements in the well-being of the local community. An example could be opening a shop that is designed to provide work for those with additional learning, helping them gain employment skills.
Fundraising: creating financial resources that can further the work of the Connect Foundation, helping its projects become self-sufficient. An example could be hosting an auction where all profits are donated to the Connect Foundation.
